We make every effort to secure the website against misuse and unauthorized access to personal data. We do this, for example, by using SSL-secured connections. It is your responsibility to secure the equipment with which you visit and use our website, for example with virus protection software.

Personal data
By using our website, you leave certain data with us. This may include personal data: data that can be traced back to you directly or indirectly. We only store and use personal data that you provide to us directly or where it is clear upon submission that it is provided to us for processing.

We use the personal data obtained only for the purposes for which the data was made available to us by you.

Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter and we ask you for data for that purpose, we will only use this data to send you our newsletter by email. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the newsletter. As soon as you unsubscribe, we immediately delete your personal data relating to the newsletter. The legal basis on which we process the personal data is the performance of your request to receive the newsletter.

We also process your data for statistical purposes. This allows us to obtain general insights, such as demographic insights.

We also collect your personal data to build a profile. We do this, for example, based on which links you click in the newsletter, on which device you preferably read the newsletter or when you read the newsletter.

The legal basis for building a profile in that case is the pursuit of a legitimate interest: we can offer you better content.

We do not process more data than necessary for this purpose and your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, any profile linked to it will also be deleted.


Contact form
If you want to ask a question or contact us, you can use the contact form on our website. The data you provide to us via the contact form is used solely to respond to your question or comment. After responding, we delete your personal data.

The legal basis on which we process the personal data is: being able to carry out your request for information or respond to your comment.


Job application
If you leave data on our website in the context of a job application, we will only use this data within the application procedure for the vacancy for which you applied. If the vacancy for which you applied has been filled or withdrawn, we will destroy the data you left with us, such as your curriculum vitae and cover letter, unless we have obtained your consent to retain the data for possible future vacancies.

The legal basis on which we process the personal data is: the (pre-contractual) performance of an employment agreement.

Please note: a passport photo, place or country of birth, trade union memberships, sexual orientation and health status are special categories of personal data. You do not need to mention these in your curriculum vitae or cover letter and they are not relevant to the assessment of your application.

Provision to third parties
We may engage third parties to process personal data on our behalf. In that case, these third parties are referred to as “processors”. These processors always act under our responsibility and may not use the personal data for their own purposes. We have concluded processing agreements with these third parties.

This concerns our hosting provider and suppliers of online tools. With these online tools, we can, for example, send the newsletter, follow up on your questions or comments, or process your job application.

It is possible that we use third-party software to follow up on job applications.

Personal data may be processed outside the EU or EEA. This usually concerns the United States. We ensure that the third parties processing your personal data are Privacy Shield certified or work with the EU model contracts for transfer.
